You should choose YubiKey Manager because the YubiKey Personalization Tool has officially reached its End of Life (EOL) as of February 19, 2026, and is entirely incompatible with modern YubiKey firmware (version 5.8 and later). While legacy tutorials often refer to both, Yubico has deprecated the old Personalization Tool due to security vulnerabilities (such as CVE-2026-40947). Additionally, Yubico announced the sunset of the YubiKey Manager GUI in early 2025.
